I think the few SWAT teams of the era used similar type stuff, but that in the '80s an "entry team" doctrine took hold along with the influence of the SAS and the Iranian embassy takeover in London, and the SWAT teams went to MP5s backed up by snipers.

2008年10月13日 · This class was held at the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy in London, OH. It was LEO only. Most attendees were SWAT except for about 3-4. I am just a lowly range officer for my dept with hopes of getting on SWAT. I took this class to be able to qualify our SWAT guys on their M4's. First off, Phil Singleton was an outstanding instructor.
