Surf Beach is a public beach located on Vandenberg Air Force Base near Lompoc, CA. Access to Surf Beach is from the Amtrak train stop parking area along West Ocean Avenue. The areas north and south of Surf Beach are closed March 1st through September 30th to protect the Snowy Plover bird nesting spots.

Beautiful stretch at the elbow of California. At low tide, walk about a mile south of the train station where you can find a large area filled with sand dollars. Drop by the Lompoc Museum and take in a little history about Surf Beach. Sibyl Marston was a wooden schooner cargo ship that sank in Jan 1909. The remains are still there for all to see

Surf Beach is located near Lompoc, at the west end of Ocean Ave. Public access is at the Amtrak Surf Station parking area. It’s a great spot for beach strolls and photography. No fishing is allowed as it is part of Vandenberg State Marine Reserve.
