Stetind is not a particularly popular tourist destination, despite being Norway's national mountain. [8] It got a boom in tourism activity after the award, but the number of visitors returned to normal levels after a few years. [9]

Stetind looms directly overhead. The access trail is easy to find from here. From Bodø, access E6 and drive north for about 1.5 hours until reaching signs for highway 827 signed 'Drag Kjøpsvik'. Follow this highway for a short way until reaching the ferry. After the ferry, drive through several tunnels until Stetind is abundantly visible.

The mountain Stetind is a well known land mark for the sailors along the coast. The vertical, steep mountain with looks like an anvil, rises majestically from the sea. Stetind was in 2002 selected as Norway's national mountain, and is also a favored place for peak climbers.
