Important: If you are required to correct and or adjust the axle stop position and turning radius, perform all corrections and adjustments before install of replacement steering gear. Make sure all your axle stop adjustments, corrections and checks are done with the original gear to be removed.

1) Inspect the steering column. Remove the universal joint from the in-put shaft of the steering gear and inspect the sliding intermediate shaft for signs of polishing galling or binding. 2) Ensure it is properly lubricated. Inspect universal joints for sticking and proper lubrication and make sure the joints are properly phased.
