I made the mistake of buying the XM2's for wireless gaming, without doing enough research. This sony line is terrible for wireless gaming due to the latency being atrocious, worse than many other BT devices. You want headphones with AptX LL or AptX adaptive, or a proprietary wifi dongle, otherwise youll need to use a cord.

The XM4 headphones will always be a classic that’s worth it, especially if you can get’em on the cheap. But, if you were asking the same question about the XM5’s, I’d probably tell you to hold off a little bit longer, especially considering the price point will probably be close to what the New XM6’s will sell for.

On this graph we see frequency responce from XM4. Dotted line is our rough target frequency. Sony WH-1000XM4 frequency responce. As you can see, we are quite far from our ideal target curve. No worries, we will fix it! Option 1 - use Sony Headphones app. First option how to get close to our Harman target curve is to use tools, that Sony gave us.

FYI, macbook pd adapter having the lowest voltage at 5.2V, it may look nothing from the beginning, but in the long running, it will damage the headphone because Sony XM takes 5V like any other portable devices do. Apple likes to do everything different, their devices take 5.2V at lowest, next is 6V which we use it unnoticed.

I don't know if the XM4 has the same limitation but I have the XM3 and you cannot use the mic in wired mode. This is a bizarre limitation that truly baffles me. Sony itself makes wireless headsets that cost less than $100 and the mic works in wired mode. Meanwhile their $350 premium wireless set does not.

2020年10月16日 · Well almost, the left earphone has some sort of hiss which sounds like the noise cancellation is a touch too aggressive, but weirdly only on the left side. It's really only apparent if the sound is low. I've installed the Sony app and made sure to check that the connection should be the priority as suggested on Sony's site.

I can get mic to work over cable using the correct cable. I replaced a set of Surface Headphones (1st gen) with the XM4's today and used the audio cable from my old set. No problems using the mic at all in this config. So, it should work well with the right cable -- …
