The Templar Sona was captured by the Demaxian Ordinal Kayn after she landed on the planet Ionan with her friends. Some of them were killed, but Sona was particularly important to Kayn. Although she didn't answer any questions, Kayn knew that she was important to him and Rhaast, an ancient monster in a scythe that repeatedly took possession of Kayn.

And from Rhaasts quotes it seems behind that gate either lies "whatever makes him transform" into Dark Star Rhaast or alternativly behind that gate lies the faction of the Dark Star which Rhaast wants to unleash ...
