It's been brought up a few times in D2. Failsafe talks about it, the Neomuna nano tech is based off it. I think it was also brought up in season of the seraph. I suspect it will return as an episode in the upcoming years. In fact bungie even made a siva version of the exodus crash strike, but they removed it before launching D2

SIVA still exists in the plaguelands near the cosmodrome. They can't create new SIVA due to our actions during Rise of Iron. But older SIVA should still be present. That's part of the cosmodrome quarantine. The Devils sent a present of SIVA in ships to the other houses.
