Shaghik Atakaramians was born in Tehran, Iran, on March 21, 1978. She received the B.S. degree from Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) in 2000 and the M.S. degree from University of Tehran, Iran, in 2002. Her master's thesis was entitled “An equivalent network model for full-wave analysis of two-dimensional photonic crystals.”
