2010年3月31日 · I'm helping someone set up a new iPhone 12 and after doing most of the steps to get set up on the new phone from the old one, after getting to the "Updating iCloud settings…" section it immediately goes to the lock screen. If you unlock, you see the Updating iCloud settings… part again and it quickly reverts to the lock screen.

Just for the heck of it, I got a brand new Verizon SIM card, which I put into my phone and Wa-la, though everything seem to work, outgoing and incoming calls as well as texting failed to work and I had to call tech-support and they work this through and it took about 35/45 minutes.

2020年10月23日 · Both the manual process and the process where you use your current iPhone to activate lead to the same issue. Lol Apple or AT&T is botching this roll out. I'm in a thread on Twitter with multiple people saying the same thing. And yes, I've rebooted the new iPhone 12 Pro probably 20-30 times.

2020年11月14日 · Same issue for me, all apps on 12 Pro stuck in "Loading" status overnight. Tried the App Store trick, closing all open apps in background, powering off a couple of times and nothing worked. I eventually wiped the phone and set it up again, but instead of using my old phone to transfer everything over, I restored from an iCloud backup.

2012年3月5日 · Though I don't know how to get the new iPhone to 12.4 to start that process. I've used the restore from iCloud before several times. It seems to work pretty well, provided you have a decent fast WiFi connection.

2024年9月11日 · This year I'm going to be picking up my new iPhone at the Apple Store (don't want to risk a porch pirate) and taking in my old one to trade in. They usually do the iCloud backup setup of the new iPhone right there and then take the old iPhone and wipe it on the spot.
