Sempach is a municipality in the district of Sursee in the canton of Lucerne in Switzerland. It has retained some traces of its medieval appearance, especially the main gateway, beneath a watch tower, and reached by a bridge over the old moat.

The town impresses with its historic old town and beautiful location on the shores of Lake Sempach. The small town was originally founded by the Habsburgs to control the lake shore and the former Gotthard route. Sempach gained fame through the Battle of Sempach, in which the Confederates recorded a decisive victory against the Habsburgs in 1386.

Alte Pfarrkirche Sempachs nördlich der Stadt, mit Beinhaus und ummauertem Friedhof. Die Stadtkirche wurde im Jahr 1831 in klassizistischer Art errichtet. Der repräsentative Holzbau liegt an der prominentesten Lage der Stadtstrasse. Der Brunnenstock und Löwe passen in die Zeit von 1550, das Becken aus Granit in jene des 17. Jahrhundert.
