2022年7月30日 · Due to skin not starting to decompose we can assume that Sayori committed suicide not too long before player went into her room. Skin starts to turn purple after around 30 min after biological death, but the process is most noticeable after 8 hours, so this makes sense. Process is called lividity.

As others have said, its probably because depression killed the gratitude and happiness she should’ve felt, and knowing Sayori she probably felt like she way lying to mc and that just made her feel more worthless.
