2025年3月28日 · The Aquifer Storage and Recovery (ASR) Program is a key component of SAWS’ 2017 Water Management Plan. The first major project funded by SAWS customers through the Water Supply Fee, SAWS opened the ASR in June 2004. Water rights allocation from the Edwards Aquifer is limited by legislation and Edwards Aquifer Authority rules.

As of 2019, SAWS estimates it has invested $250,000,000 in the H2Oaks ASR project, which includes 29 total ASR wells, 30 million gallons per day water treatment facility, and seven Carrizo Aquifer wells.

2019年2月5日 · The SAWS Twin Oaks ASR (SAWS ASR) is an underground storage reservoir in the Carrizo sand aquifer in Southern Bexar County. As a SAWS Water Management Project it is designed to store Edward’s water when demand is less than available supply. The stored water is returned to San Antonio for use in critical period when demand is high.

What is ASR for SAWS? System of pump stations, pipelines, wells and treatment facilities designed to store Edwards Aquifer water in the Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer. Water stored during rainy seasons or times of excess will be used during dry, hot months or years. Optimizes the use of all water resources available to SAWS over long periods of time.

The San Antonio Water System (SAWS) ASR facility at H2Oaks Center has 29 ASR wells and a recovery capacity of about 60 million gallons per day. As of May 2024, the volume of the Edwards Aquifer groundwater stored in the Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer was about 154,919 acre-feet.
