2003年12月29日 · +100 I would for sure recommend NOT bead, or sand blast an engine. The media embeds into the aluminum, and small crevices. Then comes out when the engine is hot, and full of oil, and can damage the motor internals. Soda is a good way to go, there are also some pretty good acid based cleaners. My2c

2004年2月8日 · Aluminum oxide is a big no-no around engines. Its what sand paper is made of. It comes from most manufacturers in their service information about using sanding or Roloc discs to clean gasket surfaces. GM had tons of problems with service departments using roloc/scotchloc discs when doing repairs to clean gasket mating surfaces.

Blasting is good when the nozzle can be aimed perpendicular to the surface, less so as the angle becomes more shallow. Blasting the cooling fin edges is easy, but the flat surfaces between are difficult.

2009年3月20日 · Vapor blasting (from what I've read) is very similar in force to dry soda/glass bead blasting. It provides an OEM satin finish or the original textured feel for sand cast aluminum parts.
