Bassam Said Freiha has dedicated his life to building bridges between countries, helping the less fortunate, and promoting art and culture. Born in Beirut, Lebanon, he studied at the University of Beirut before taking up the helm of Dar Assayad in 1961.

Assayad was launched by Dar Assayad publishing house led by Said Freiha on 22 November 1943. [ 2 ] [ 3 ] Freiha was an advocate of Gamal Abdel Nasser , Egyptian president . [ 4 ] The publishing house also owned other publications including daily Al Anwar .

Thanks to his interest in adopting state-of-the-art technologies and methods, Bassam Said Freiha has grown Dar Assayad into the leading publisher of specialised publications in the Middle East. Despite travelling widely throughout the year, he remains a hands-on and active leader of his publishing house.

Bassam Said Freiha was born in Beirut in November 1939, son of Said Freiha, a prominent pioneer journalist and founder of Dar Assayad. At the age of 21, Bassam Said Freiha was appointed Managing Director of Dar Assayad by his father, after he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the American University of Beirut in 1961.
