Sadiola is a commune and small town in western Mali, south of Kayes. The commune includes 46 villages [3] and in 2009 had a population of 39,305. Sadiola has two large open cast gold mines, the Société d'Exploitation des Mines d'Or de Sadiola S.A (SEMOS) als to referred to as the Sadiola Gold Mine and the Yatela Gold Mine.

The Sadiola Mine is a world-class asset with a multi-decade mine life and a robust mineral endowment that underpins significant production growth with increasing returns. Allied is actively focusing on exploration and development of high grade oxide deposits to maximize low-cost oxide feed and boost near-term production and cash flows.

The Sadiola Gold Mine consists of an open pit mining operation exploiting the Sadiola gold deposit, associated carbon-in-pulp processing plant, townsite and infrastructure at Sadiola, in Mali. The Sadiola Gold Mine is owned by SEMOS, which holds the mining rights for gold, silver (and related substances) and platinoids on the Sadiola Mining Permit.

The Sadiola mine consists of two open pit operations (Sadiola Main and FE3) which continue to mine oxide and transitional ore to feed the existing oxide processing facility.
