2009年6月6日 · I have a kickin' Socom16, and have only used Irons. I'm thinking about taking a tactical class, and they recommend using a red dot scope (which means, I have to add a cheek rest). My question is, what is the best red dot scope set up with the Socom? My main concern is that I don't want to have to re-set my zero on the scope after 100+ rds.

The only real option is the Smith can with the Vortex DC, but because of the length of the can, it pretty much defeats the idea of a short barrelled M1A.

2014年3月11日 · I'd get the Socom and change out the fat front night sight with a National Match front sight. For accuracy under 200 yards, the extra 1.75 extra inches of the Scout isn't going to really offer you anything. The Socom also comes with a brake already installed and is ready for a red dot. I love my Socom 16 and highly recommend it.

I’ve always wanted one of these and this was a good deal (especially with the free mags from Springfield) but I have no experience with this platform. And now I've leapt off the cliff and purchased an A.G. Composites CBR rifle stock for it. That means I need a buttstock and sling setup.

2023年3月31日 · The SOCOM with forward rail is ideal for a scout scope or red dot. Aimpoint Comp M4s or a Leupold Scout scope. A Sig Romeo red dot if you want to keep cost down.

2013年12月21日 · I just got a new in box Springfield SOCOM 16, all factory stock and equipment, and I have a question for others about what sight picture it takes for others to get on target with their rifle. Mine seems to shoot high with the iron sights and a scope. The Irons are the factory tall XS sight and large aperture rear sight.
