2021年10月21日 · That device IS a classic Fan Hub. It gets ALL power for its fans from the PSU directly via the connection to a SATA power output from that PSU. The other cable that must plug into a mobo 4-pin fan header is used for two things. First, it gets from that header the PWM signal used to control the fans, and that is shared among all the fans connected.

2021年10月30日 · Its power source will be a single sata power cable from the psu. I know that the hub supports 10 fans, but how many fans can a sata power cable power safely? My goal is 5 (4 case fans and a cpu fan)? My psu is a cougar VTE500 (500 watts). Bonus question: How many watts is this about to consume roughly? (fans are the regular 120mm no rgb fans)

2017年10月11日 · It has NO other arms or connectors. A HUB is a similar-looking device but very different. It has those arms, PLUS a third type that must plug into a power output connector (either 4-pin Molex or SATA) from the PSU. A Hub can only work with a true 4-pin fan system, and is used mainly when you need lots of power for many fans.

2020年8月20日 · SATA power connectors suck. Those tiny pins only support so much current. A fully loaded Commander maxes out the specification for SATA power. So the voltage at the HDD is probably below the HDD motor's ability to spin up.

2021年11月4日 · My power supply can't handle 2 Drives ( I learned that the hard way, and by hard way I didn't look at the specifications T_T) anyway, my HDD is 500gb and 3.5" I want to use an external power supply to power up the hard drive instead, but I also want to connect it through SATA. 2014年11月15日 · The SATA power connector includes a 3.3 volt rail as well as the traditional 5 volt and 12 volt rails. Any device that relies on the 3.3 volt rail will only function if it is connected to a proper SATA power connector as a Molex->SATA adapter will omit the 3.3 volt rail.

2020年12月28日 · Straight up, ANY power supply that is so old that it doesn't have SATA power connectors should be IMMEDIATELY replaced, because it is old enough that it poses a serious hazard for failure of one kind or another including potentially short circuit, fire, excessive current draw or any number of failures that could result in damage to other hardware.
