Modeling of composite floor in SAP2000 - Eng-Tips
2018年10月10日 · As a material I've chosen concrete C30/37 defined in Materials (I'll attach my model in SAP2000 at the end of the post). This concrete's Weight per Unit Volume is defined as 0, because I've assigned all gravity loads, including dead load as Uniform Load(Shell to Frames)to my Area Section (slab).
Shell Element Modeling - Computers and Structures: SAP2000
2013年12月27日 · By default, SAP2000 shell element (membrane has different default and behavior) will transfer shear and moments at corner locations. So if you model the floor as one giant 4 node rectangle, it would transfer load only at the 4 corner joints.
Does SAP 2000 Design for Torsion - Eng-Tips
2003年3月31日 · As you probably know, torsion is always accounted for in analysis. For design, torsional strength and allowable torsional strength is automatically determined only for closed sections like pipes and tubes.. and that design check started in the newer steel design codes as I recall..I think starting with AISC 13th.
Section Cut - Computers and Structures: SAP2000 - Eng-Tips
2016年2月19日 · 2 - SAP2000 allows to perform the integration from either side, positive or negative. The results shouldn't be too different. 3 - Not with this tool, at least directly. You can try working on the xy plane and changing the coordinates manually on the import files
Connection and meshing - Computers and Structures: SAP2000
2014年4月25日 · Hello, I am currently doing an internship, where I am asked to used SAP2000 V16 to make a simple container, put some loads and get results. I am not really getting on how the connection between frame and shell elements are made. I have been searching on the web, readng manuals and CSI...
Design for Shear V13, V23 or Vmax of Shell 2 - Eng-Tips
2002年5月13日 · If you mesh you shells, SAP2000 integrates not only forces, but moments are integrated as well. A section cut combines forces and moments at a point, not along the length of an element. I may be mistaken, but what you seem to be looking for is not a section cut, but a moment diagram for a shell element, kind of like the moment diagram results ...
Frame Element with Shell element - Computers and Structures: …
2002年4月26日 · im just saying that when u solve a plan (beams and slabs), we should expect -ve moments in the slabs over the interior beams as there is Continuty in slabs, but when we solve frame elements and shell elements we found that the slab over the interior beams got +ve moment not -ve, it looks like it assume it is not full rigid,
How to scale down a model in Sap2000? 1 - Eng-Tips
2009年9月12日 · Recently, I've been working on a concrete structure using Sap2000, the geometry of the structure was kind of hard, which I had to spend alot of time on it. Although I finished the analysis and design a few weeks ago, the architect changed the model by scaling down the whole model and reducing the dimensions to 70% of the original model.
Buckling Analysis in SAP - Computers and Structures: SAP2000
2011年5月26日 · When you model for buckling in SAP2000, then even if sway is likely, make sure you have at least one intermediate node in the column. Just like ishvaag, I have tried many models vs books and I get satisfactory results. But only after good meshing. respects ijr
Buckling Analysis - Computers and Structures: SAP2000 - Eng-Tips
2010年4月7日 · Because otherwise SAP2000 will assume a perfectly symetrical structure for calculation of buckling load, and calculate a higher buckling load than is reality. SAP2000 also calculates nonlinear snap through buckling, but you don't do this by adding a buckling case. You add a static case with nonlinear P-delta with large displacements.
