2024年12月18日 · S70B56 is a modification of the S70 series, which provided 5.6 liters of displacement, and was developed specifically for installation on the E31 850 CSi . Cars began to be equipped with it in September 1992. This power unit was based on the outdated M70 engine, which was slightly updated in technical terms.

The S70/2, while sharing the same 12 cylinder layout, bore spacing and design principle as the S70B56, is essentially a new design with the heads based on the European market S50B30, [20] and thus featuring 4 valves per cylinder and variable valve timing (called VANOS by BMW) and individual throttle bodies.
