The directive3 includes a few criteria according to which RoHS 2 exemptions can be justified. This means that under specific circumstances, temporary permission, for placing EEE, which contains the RoHS 2 banned substances, on the EU market, may be granted. Such exemptions are then listed under Annexes III and IV of the directive.
