Ghana Railway Company Limited (previously known as the Ghana Railway Corporation) is the company that operates the railways of Ghana. The Ghana Railway Company Limited is a public-sector body with responsibility for the efficient management of the national rail system so as to enhance the smooth movement of goods and passengers.

The network has three major branch lines two of which are on the Western Line and the other on the Central Line. Minerals, Cocoa and Timber constitute the main streams of goods traffic on the network.

Under the Railway Master Plan (RMP) developed by Team Engineering SPA in 2013, the development of Ghana's railway infrastructure is now planned and available to investors. The RMP envisions the development of 4008km of railway line over the next 33years at an estimated cost of about USS21.50 billion commencing from 2015.
