2008年8月12日 · The vet immediately stopped the Rimadyl and IV flushed Tiger's kidneys and (thankfully) he regained full kidney function. But after that episode, I tend to be very careful with that drug and err on the side of caution. Now at our vet, Tiger's file has "Allergic to Rimadyl!" written in big red letters on it.

2010年1月26日 · From what we understand, Previcox offers far less side affects than Rimadyl and Deramaxx, and with Rimadyl and Deramaxx, blood tests are needed every six months, but not with Privcox. Here's the problem ... in our area, Previcox costs about $50 for 14 tablets thru our vet, and over $100 for 30.

When steroids or NSAIDs (rimadyl, deramaxx) are recommended, this might be an alternative which works without side effects. It also reduces pain as well as aspirin without the gastric side effects. 2009年10月13日 · I prefer Deramaxx over Rimadyl, but that is just me. No particular reason, I guess. Maybe because my former vet/employer prescribed it far more than Rimadyl, and I got used to it. He did not use Previcox, and, I too, have heard some bad things about it as well. Might want to Google it, or even email OSU to see what they think about the Previcox.

2012年2月23日 · We gave the Rimadyl in the morning and then the Pepcid one-hour before his later evening meal. This did seem to work well for him. We ended deciding to continue the Pepcid indefinitely (one per day one hour before the last meal of the day) for his gastric issues as he tends to have quite the sensitive stomach.

2015年11月12日 · 7:30: slice of bread and 2nd Rimadyl dose (smidge under 75mg) Full disclosure: the Pepcid is our own doing -- the vet didn't mention it -- but I'm paranoid about ulcers/bleeding. Starting tonight I might give less kibble at dinnertime and give her the rest instead of bread before dose #2.

2019年3月29日 · Call back from the vet that evening, and she said kidney labs were a tad high (hers have always been) and she felt it was OK to go ahead with the Rimadyl. We started it the next morning. She then seemed happy and was even taking small dashes around the back yard. Tail was wagging, she was eating well.

2016年10月24日 · Don, everything I've found says NSAIDs (Rimadyl) and antihistamines (Benadryl) can be given together. There is no known interaction between the two drugs unless the patient has an allergy to either drug. I even found an online "ask a vet" site that ask this specific question and the vet said it was safe. But, of course, I am not a vet
