2015年7月31日 · Remote Sensing-based Information and Insurance for Crop in Emerging Economies (known as ‘RIICE’) collects and analyses detailed information on around 15 million hectares of rice-growing areas in Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Thailand and Viet Nam.

Information derived from remote sensing helps governments and agricultural intermediaries to better manage domestic rice production and distribution, both during normal growing conditions and after natural events.

2017年6月15日 · Since 2012, the rice crop monitoring initiative RIICE – Remote Sensing-based Information and Insurance for Crops in Emerging Economies – has been helping governments and farmers in South East Asia and India to better forecast harvests in the face of an increasing number of extreme weather events.

2022年3月29日 · After the launch of Sentinel-1 in 2014, RIICE has been upgraded to a rice monitoring service capable of operating over large areas. Today, RIICE is operationally used at national scale in the Philippines, Cambodia , Vietnam , and three Indian states, Odisha, Tamil Naidu, and Andhra Pradesh.
