I use Devolutions Remote Desktop Manager for both types, and it is awesome. I build and destroy a lot of VMs, and have RDM sync'd to AD, so any new Windows server automatically gets added to RDM. I don't join my Ubuntu/Debian VMs to the domain, but I may to get RDM to sync those too automatically.
