This seems very economical to me for processing but I'm not sure how would be the best way. This entails mixing the galena powder with sodium carbonate and salt, under an oxygen lance in a crucible.

The process involves ferric chloride leaching of galena concentrate to produce lead chloride, followed by molten-salt electrolysis of the lead chloride to yield lead metal and chlorine. The chlorine is used to regenerate ferric chloride in the leaching solution.
