2012年4月25日 · Yes indeed. Rat snakes are shaped like a "loaf of bread" and use their concave belly scutes to ascend just about anything. Are these snakes that common in the urban Austin area? There seems to be a lot of contact with this species (texas rat snake).

2014年8月11日 · Not sure what the snake slithering out of the hole is. It's on it's way out, so I wouldn't stress about it. I've been around poisonous snakes like rattlers my whole life and never been bitten. You typically see them in the burbs when new construction takes over a field. Lots of mice "relocate" and where they go, so do the snakes.

Better to lock the door in a way that allows the snake to leave.
