RaiSat Ragazzi originally began life as a free-to-air satellite TV channel named RaiSat 2 in 1997. RaiSat 2 was renamed RaiSat Ragazzi in 1999 after becoming exclusive to Tele+, alongside the other RaiSat channels.

On 18 May 2010, when Rai rebranded all its channels, the name RaiSat was extinguished, and RaiSat YoYo became Rai YoYo. It adopted a new logo, maintaining the colors of the previous logo and adding the speech bubble shape launched by Rai Gulp , another youth-oriented channel.
