Perhaps Qi Rong was right to criticize Xie Lian's methods, but he did so because he didn't understand why Xie Lian struggled to find alternative solutions.

2022年8月23日 · I genuinely don’t understand why people only like characters who „do good things“. Reading a book where everyone is nice and friendly would be incredibly boring. I like Qi Rong because he makes the story more interesting. He‘s a little sh*t (most of the time) but his missing moral compass is exactly what makes me enjoy reading his parts.

Xie Lian stepped in to stop Qi Rong when Qi Rong's actions involved other people, but Xie Lian seemingly ran out of patience eventually, and ignored him. Some time later, likely either because Qi Rong was mortal and/or Xie Lian stopped hearing about him entirely, at some point Xie Lian assumed Qi Rong died.

2022年7月18日 · Qi rong somehow gets wind of or orchestrates a plot to bring down the new kingdom. The first attempt was when LQQ gets kidnapped as a child. They did not expect the guoshi (Xie Lian in one of his many covers) to save LQQ and demonstrates the famous blocking move. This blocking move is how LQQ later recognizes XL.
