2018年12月14日 · Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) (previously known as Qualified Mental Retardation Professional or QMRP) in all ICF/DD, ICF/DD-H, ICF/DD-N and DD- CNC facilities when the Federal ICF/IID regulations became effective in October 1988.

The primary responsibility of the QIDP is to support people with disabilities and special needs to achieve their personal goals. The QIDP is responsible for assessing, monitoring, documenting and ensuring the provision of quality care to people with disabilities and special needs.

Many Developmental Disability Professionals (DDP) choose to pursue Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) certification. Along with signifying competency, the National Association of QIDPs grants QIDP certification to help bridge the gap between academic learning and practical applications required on the job. 1

A Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) must have at least one year of experience working directly with people with developmental disabilities, meet the minimum federal educational requirements for a QIDP outlined in 42 CFR 483.430, and must provide documentation of both education and experience.
