Pulchowk Campus holds the position of central campus of the Institute of Engineering. Established in 1972 (2029 B.S.), the Pulchowk Campus is located in the heart of Lalitpur City at Pulchowk. It was originally established to produce trade-level manpower to meet the nation’s engineering needs.

Situated at Pulchowk of Lalitpur metropolitan city, Pulchowk Campus is the central campus of Institute of Engineering. Established in 1972 AD, the campus is second oldest engineering institution of Nepal after Thapathali Campus. The campus offers bachelor degree, master degree and doctoral degree programs in various disciplines.

IOE runs undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D. programs. It previously ran Diploma courses till 2012. The institute has five constituent and ten affiliated campuses in the country. Its constituent campus are namely Pulchowk Campus, Thapathali Campus, Paschimanchal Campus, Purbanchal Campus and Chitwan Engineering Campus. [3] [4]
