I'm having a problem where I see distracting "rainbow glitter" effect specially when white or bright images are shown. I'm quite surprised by how distracting it is.

I have seen the TH690ST which was essentially the same projector minus 4K. That model had eye melting RBE on first release but they fixed it via an update (a non-user-upgradeable update to be clear).
