2005年11月17日 · I have not used sealer over completely primed panels in years. If it is a primer spot on a panel, sealer is a good "insurance". If the panel is primed complete, it is a waste of time and money. I used sealer on every job I did, but haven't now in years. I stopped after the first trip to a tech school put on by a paint company.

2012年7月4日 · You should use epoxy primer/sealer. SPI is a good sealer and when reduced up to 50% with appropriate reducer it will lay out smooth. You only need one coat before spraying base/clear. Make sure you give a nice wet coat.

2005年1月23日 · I would agree with mrcleanr6 using sealer under base coat especially high metallics like silver and golds. even wet sanding your primer with 800 before painting can still show sand scrstches later after clear coating. I use a transparent sealer works good on spot jobs too. I have'nt had any dye back problems using sealer either.

Suppose to save money and is just as good as a coat of pre-paint sealer as long as I dont sand through primer and have spots of old paint and acrylic and polyester primers showing. 2010年5月31日 · My car is original paint with a few old primer spots to cover whatever. Inspections shows no putty. My plan was to sand off all the old primer down to the original paint/primer. Should I use an epoxy then to cover the bare spots or just use a 2k and start the blocking process. A small amount of filler will be needed here and there but not much.

2011年8月9日 · Primer Sealer and Sealer are the same thing. A sealer is usually a 2k product that is applied after all the body work and primer blocking is complete. It is applied over 320-400 grit wet sand scratches and has a certain time window to accept a color coat without sanding through chemical adhesion.

2018年9月20日 · Whenever you get ready, that will be fine to sand and either paint directly or topcoat after a wet on wet primer-sealer prior to color coats. But most guys would sand that some, then apply a medium or high build urethane primer-surfacer for final blocking. Depends on the desired result and budget and product familiarity.
