Prahlada (Sanskrit: प्रह्लाद, romanized: Prahlāda) is an asura king in Hindu mythology. He is known for his staunch devotion to the preserver deity, Vishnu. He appears in the narrative of Narasimha, the lion avatara of Vishnu, who rescues Prahlada by disimboweling and killing his evil father, the asura king Hiranyakashipu. [2]

Prahlada, the little boy whose unwavering devotion led to the Narasimha Avatar of Lord Vishnu, became a powerful king and he dethroned Indra from heaven. The story of Indra and Prahlada begins here. On Brishaspati’s advice, Indra met Shukracharya to find out the reason for the success of Prahlada.

2018年2月16日 · He drove out Indra from heaven and assumed the title of Indra. He also assumed the titles of Savita, Vayu, Agni, Varuna, Soma, Kubera and Yama. The gods fled from heaven (svarga) and roamed around the world in human forms. Everyone had to worship Hiranyakashipu, the king of the daityas (the sons of Diti).

Whilst Hiranyakashipu had been performing the penance to be granted this boon, his home had been attacked by Indra and the other devas seizing the opportunity in his absence. Lord Indra had even abducted his wife, Queen Kayadhu who was expecting a child.

2013年1月11日 · Indra realized that no matter what he did, he could not match up to the statesmanship of Prahlada. Feeling inadequate, Indra himself relinquished his throne in favour of Prahlada. Prahlada now ruled over the heavens, earth and the nether world and as usual peace and prosperity followed him in all the three regions. Indra was however ashamed.

Indra taken away all the things from Prahalada. This may be due to Indra's such winning over Prahlada. Read the story from MB. Shanti Parva, 124th Chapter. The translation is wrong. It does not say that Indra killed Prahlada. It said "ParahlAda" meaning son of Prahlada. Indra killed Virochana, son of Prahlada.
