2006年2月20日 · Initial Policy Drafting Process Several situations may create the need for a new or revised policy. Once a need is identified, the operational group consults the Policy Specialist for guidance and help to develop a policy for submission to the next appropriate level of review.

Upon identifying a need for a new policy or policy revision, the Responsible Official (RO) prepares the Statement of Need and Impact and submits it to the University Policy Office of the Office of General Counsel (“Policy Office”).

Before commencing the review please refer to (i) the Policy Framework and the Policy Drafting, Review and Approval Guidelines, (ii) ‘Definitions’ on page 2 of this Coversheet, and (iii) the Policy Review Flowchart.
