2008年4月14日 · Using a Kreg softwood/plywood coarse thread self-tapping 1 1/2 inch screw, I fastened together two pieces of 3/4" baltic birch plywood butt jointed at 90 degrees to each other. The side with the head of the screw touching it was predrilled halfway through the plywood because I was simultaneously testing a plug cutter.

2020年12月15日 · The plywood hole will soak up a lot of glue and the dowel may swell some. Too much glue will cause more problems than too little. Not all plywood is equal. Use a good grade with as many layers as you can find. 11 ply baltic birch has very few hidden voids. I use 1/4 dowels in plywood.

2012年3月20日 · Remember that you are going through 3/4" of plywood and probably another 1/2 - 3/4" of drywall before you hit a stud, so you could be getting as little as 1" of the screw into the stud. I would use 3.5" lag screws, just make sure to countersync them so the heads do not sit proud of the surface of the cleat.

2024年4月10日 · Decided to go with plywood,supplier had some c-2? birch or maple.($42 per sheet) Same price as 3/4 sheathing. Should be fine for cabinet toe kick. I considered using 2x material because of the thickness,easy to attach to the box. In the end I like the consistancy of plywood,and not having to joint and plane a pc of 2x.

Here's the consensus I've gathered: MDF absorbs moisture too easily and will warp, plywood from Lowes is a terrible product and will warp, Lowes hardwood veneer plywoods have terrible substrate and will chip and separate.

2012年5月24日 · For a sled 1/2" is what you want. You want it to be light weight and as little height reduction as possible. For the fence glue up a plywood lamination then joint it flat. I found that the Sandeply at home depot is very good for jigs and would be excellent for this. Do not beat yourself up on thinking it has to be dead flat.
