The T18, built between 1912 and 1927 in 462 units by various manufacturers, is considered the most successful provincial railroad passenger train tank locomotive and was used by the Deutsche Reichsbahn DR until 1972 and by the Deutsche Bundesbahn DB even until 1974.

De Pruisische T18 is een 2-cilinder tenderlocomotief welke vanaf 1912 werd ingezet voor het trekken van personentreinen bij de Preußischen Staatseisenbahnen en de Deutsche Reichsbahn (DR). Vanaf 1919 werd de locomotief ook ingezet bij de Württembergischen Staats-Eisenbahnen en de Reichseisenbahnen in Elsaß-Lothringen.

Die Gattung T 18 der Königlich Preußischen Staatseisenbahnen (K.P.St.E.) waren die letzten für den Personenzugdienst entwickelten Tenderlokomotiven. Auf Grund der symmetrischen Achsfolge 2'C2' wiesen die ab 1912 gebauten Maschinen gute Laufeigenschaften in beide Fahrtrichtungen auf.

Der Blick aus der Nähe zeigt eine Menge Details. Zunächst die Beschriftung- gut lesbar und meiner Meinung nach auch größenrichtig.
