Asian (PHOAT) Coolant vs Prestone POAT | BobIsTheOilGuy
2018年6月21日 · I think the Japanese (Asian) coolants are likely all PHOAT now, but I became confused with Prestone's POAT (not PHOAT). What did they lose in the product to make it no longer hybrid? Did they remove something that was previously inorganic, such that the HOAT became phosphated OAT now?
HOAT vs. POAT vs. PHOAT coolants? - Toyota Nation Forum
2024年1月25日 · HOAT coolant in Asian vehicles is red and in American it’s gold. Now, they have POAT (phosphate organic acid) and PIAT (phosphate-inorganic acid) and apparently PHOAT (phosphate hybrid organic acid). Apparently phosphate is the newest “best” thing for coolant because it coats metals from corrosion.
Engine Coolant types — The difference between coolants
2022年3月15日 · Understand engine coolant types for engines: learn about the older 'Green' IAT coolant and the newer OAT, HOAT, PHOAT, and NHOAT coolants.

Cool It: What You Need to Know about Your Vehicle’s Cooling System
2018年10月19日 · PHOAT (Figure 3) — The difference between HOAT and PHOAT is the primary additive component, which uses phosphates rather than silicate. Honda, Toyota, Kia, Hyundai, Subaru, and Nissan typically recommend this type of coolant.
Lets have a detailed technical discussion about coolant
2014年8月24日 · My asian vehicles (or ones that spec PHOAT) get Pentosin A3 (blue) or Valvoline Asian (comes in red or blue). Vehicles which spec HOAT (low silicate like G05) get Pentosin E (which replaced Pentosin ++) or G05
POAT vs IAT coolant: Engine-specific application and differences
2021年11月29日 · PHOAT stands for Phosphate Hybrid Organic Technology. All these coolants need something to control cavitation. OAT use 2EHA for it. HOAT use silicates PHOT use Phosphates. As far as I know, all Asian makes use PHOAT coolants, so you have nothing to worry about 2EHA. Same goes for HOAT. HOAT and PHOAT coolants do not use 2EHA, period.
What Kinds of Antifreeze and Coolant Are There? - CarParts.com
Car coolants come in inorganic additive technology (IAT), organic acid technology (OAT), and hybrid organic acid technology (HOAT) types. Pink antifreeze usually uses either OAT or Phosphate Hybrid Organic Acid Technology (PHOAT). Consult your owner’s manual for the recommended antifreeze or coolant.
Understanding the Dangers Of Mixing Different Coolants
2015年7月26日 · Phosphate Hybrid Organic Acid Technology (PHOAT) These coolants use a combination of phosphate & organic acid and are considered extended-life coolants. Asian carmakers prefer PHOAT. Silicate Hybrid Organic Acid Technology (SHOAT) These coolants use a low dose of silicates to provide rapid passivation until the OAT can take effect.
