Perth Zoo is a 17-hectare (41-acre) zoological park in South Perth, Western Australia. The zoo first opened in 1898 and by 2011 housed 1258 animals of 164 species [3] and an extensive botanical collection. It is a full institutional member of the Zoo and Aquarium Association (ZAA) and the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA).

Perth Zoo is located at 20 Labouchere Road, South Perth – just across the Swan River from Perth CBD and easily accessed by public transport. The most scenic way is to take the ferry to Perth Zoo, which leaves Elizabeth Quay and crosses the river to South Perth. From Mends Street Jetty, the zoo is a 500m walk.

Perth Zoo is open from 9:00am until 5:00pm every day including all public holidays. If you book 30 or more tickets, you can access a group booking rate by calling 08 9474 0444.
