2023年11月22日 · PbtA stands for “Powered by the Apocalypse.” It means games inspired by our original game Apocalypse World, and now games inspired by other PbtA games more generally. It’s a self-applied label: because it depends on a game’s inspirations, only the game’s creator can really tell you whether their game’s PbtA or not.

2023年11月22日 · Well, it seems fitting that Blades references Apocalypse World in the acknowledgement section but nowhere does it make any reference to being PbtA. I know Harper has said it was inspired by Apocalypse World in interviews, but it doesn’t carry the PbtA logo and the words Powered by the Apocalypse ain’t there.

2016年12月22日 · When I see the specific PbtA logo, I think: 1) 2d6 + stat = 6-/7-9/10+. 2) Asymmetrical player/GM roles. 3) GM role that is much more “structured improv,” ie, “improvisation structured by principles and moves.” 4) Playbooks, ie, strong niche protection. 5) Heavy theming that is borne out through the principles, moves, and playbooks.
