Paul Agnew (born 11 April 1964 in Glasgow) [1] is a Scottish operatic tenor and conductor. [2] Agnew read music as a Choral Scholar at Magdalen College, Oxford.

Paul Agnew is in continuous demand as an outstanding interpreter of the baroque and classical repertoire. His long association with the world’s leading conductors in the field of early music includes a discography of over one hundred recordings.

An artist of international renown and an accomplished teacher, Paul Agnew, who was born in Glasgow, received his earliest musical education with Birmingham Cathedral Choir. He afterwards went to Magdalen College, Oxford, before joining the Consort of Musicke, with which he performed music from both the Italian and the English Renaissances.
