The Paris Commune (French: Commune de Paris, pronounced [kɔ.myn də pa.ʁi]) was a French revolutionary government that seized power in Paris on 18 March 1871 and controlled parts of the city until 28 May 1871.

The June Rebellion, or the Paris Uprising of 1832 (French: Insurrection républicaine à Paris en juin 1832), was an anti-monarchist insurrection of Parisian republicans on 5 and 6 June 1832.

On June 5, 1832, the funeral procession of the popular General Maximilien Lamarque, identified with the patriotic opposition the regime of July, set off an outbreak that began at the d'Austerlitz and spread to the Faubourg Saint-Antoine and to central quarters adjoining the rues Saint-Denis and Saint-Martin.
