2018年4月11日 · The PV4 was a short-lived budget offering by CJ which sounds quite good, and was the replacement for the PV3. The PV5 was their 2nd to TOTL offering at the time and is very highly regarded by many. I personally dislike where it places you in the hall while listening though. I prefer a more up-front image. The PV7 was the replacement for the PV6.

2016年5月23日 · I have a PV5 and am of two minds about it as well. Its a classic workhorse that's versatile and sounds good but I can't imagine spending that kind of money and expecting a great leap in SQ - certainly not enough to warrant $1000.

2020年10月12日 · My PV5 preamp gave up its magic smoke earlier today....a PS capacitor failed. Who can repair/restore this preamp ? I have a quote from Musical Technology, but their cost is more than I want to spend. I sent a message to CJ service, who I understand will repair all CJ equipment regardless of vintage. Does anyone offer a restoration kit ? Thank you.

2012年10月2日 · That used to be my experience before that last time; They received my PV5 on 9/16/2011 and they shipped it back on 12/05/2011 with no trouble found. I have the emails to validate my experience. Prior to that my experience was extremely positive. It would be interesting to see what the recent customer services experiences are like. M~

2018年4月11日 · The PV5 allows for full choice of stereo channels; Stereo-Mono-Reverse-Right Only-Left Only. If found these choices to be very useful when listening to vintage mono LPs. While Mono was useful, I sometimes found that choosing between the Right -or- Left channels allowed me to find the best sounding portion of a mono LP groove.

2018年7月13日 · I have owned cj preamps (starting with the PV5) and amps (starting with the MV75A1) and have never had a problem with tubes in any of the units. The only problems were with the muting circuits in Premier 3s/PV5s and once had a resistor go in an 8 year old MV75 that was replaced immediately without charge.

2021年2月25日 · I have a Wyred 4 Sound STI1000 which replaced a Conrad Johnson PV5 and MF2500A and haven't looked back. I just love it. It's makes listening a pleasure again instead of a chore. Other than that I duunno M~
