2025年2月18日 · The microstutter during VRR every 8 seconds seems to be an issue specific to the PS5/Pro. BUT there is a separate issue that was introduced on LG C2/G2 with the recent WebOS 24 firmware update, where severe stutter is introduced when using VRR specifically between around 50-70fps.

2024年2月17日 · After checking my TV and PS5 settings, my understanding is that PS5 outputs 4K YCbCr 4:2:2, down from 4K RGB 4:4:4, when either 120 Hz Output is active or VRR is enabled (related ResetEra thread). This is supposedly due to a PS5 hardware bandwidth limitation.

2023年3月8日 · While this works perfectly fine on other AMD devices like PCs with AMD GPUs or the Xbox it is NOT yet supported on PS5 which seems to require HDMI 2.1 VRR. So please don't go running out to buy a 1440p monitors thinking that you will get VRR support. Unless it explicitely states that it has the full HDMI 2.1 feature set chances are it won't.

Judging from the video demonstrating Spiderman the PS5 is capable of rendering 50% extra frames or more when VRR is on and game offers unlocked framerate. The difference on an Oled must be nice since 30fps is hard for the eyes due to pixel response time.

2023年2月2日 · When you set the ps5 to 4k, the ps5 will push out 4k image/bandwidth. The monitor will accept 4k image and shrink it to fit 1440p. If you set ps5 to 1440p, the ps5 will do the shrinking. It will also output 1440p bandwidth. Setting resolution to 4k looks sharper in my opinion. Vrr works with both resolutions on this monitor.

2022年9月22日 · And PS5 only supports one adaptive sync tech, which is HDMI forum VRR, no FreeSync or G-Sync. (BTW, Xbox supports FreeSync, so monitors with HDMI 2.0 ports can have VRR enabled with it.) HDMI forum VRR is defined based on HDMI 2.1, so in short, PS5 VRR can only be through HDMI 2.1. And most of the 2K monitors won't have HDMI 2.1 but 2.0.

2023年11月15日 · Also in PS5 I remember choosing some refresh settings (144Hz comes to mind) The reason I am thinking that is because when I switch VRR off from TV’s in-game menu it kicks me back to PS5’s calibrate edges of the picture and brightness screen, which is a bit odd. Also perhaps a naive question, but why have the VRR on?
