2024年11月8日 · UPDATE: After looking up some more examples, I reseated the spacer and tried to reinstalled the M.2 drive on both systems. Now the base PS5 boots but doesn't see the M.2 drive or data at all (same as the PS5 PRO). So now it may be an issue where I damaged the drive in all my install attempts.

2020年10月7日 · So, during the PS5 teardown video i've noticed some holes and numbers in SSD slot. Looks like all kind of today's available Nvme M.2 SSDs will be supported by PS5. So, slowest 2230 SSDs are with speed around 2.5 GB/s - 1 GB/s. Maybe that's enough for PS4 games. Faster ones ( 2280 ) like 980 Pro for PS5 games. Anyway, here are the pictures :

2024年11月7日 · Furthermore, the pcb on your m.2 is very thin and it fits between the screw and the standoff, and will crush easily or the washer/spacer fitted into the pcb will also malform if overtightened with a similar result or damaging the end of the m.2 if you overtighten.
