2021年2月15日 · On my LG OLED with HDR calibrated using the steps from this post, the difference does not counteract the fact that the SDR game mode has terrible color accuracy, so SDR games actually look very slightly better when shown with the PS5's Auto HDR conversion. So it's pretty much a win-win for me to leave HDR on This is clearly not universal though.

2020年11月30日 · That's actually what the video is about: If you're following PS5's instructions of "Barely visible" you're doing it wrong, and you get a dark image. So: set it to HGIG, and adjust the PS5's HDR settings accordingly (=brighter). BUT! Not all games use these settings, so for a lot of games you adjust the brightness in-game.

2021年1月28日 · On the PS5 HDR is constantly on - even if you're playing SDR content, it'll be in a HDR mapped "container". Some games do just have bad or fake HDR implementations (like RDR2), so it may be that AC has bad HDR too. SDR games will also look worse on the PS5 unless you force HDR off in the system settings.

I don't think it is a bandwidth issue because even 4K bluray movies that play at 24Hz (and in HDR) are converted to SDR; when I bring up the info when playing the movie, it shows that it is converting "HDR > SDR". 2024年10月31日 · The PS5 system UI should look effectively identical when comparing SDR/HDR, when HDR is set to "always on". If it doesn't, then chances are the TV is setup wrong. First step is try filmmaker/cinema mode - that usually turns a lot of the nonsense off.

I know Samsung had a similar issue with PS5 HDR awhile back that was fixed on PS side patch but none of these models are listed on that list and none of the solutions have worked for me short of factory resetting tv and PS5 which makes me log into every streaming service again, change visual settings, etc. which is a huge pain.

2022年2月22日 · Make all the adjustments in PS5/game menus with HGIG enabled, so that console and/or games output HDR within exact levels of your TV panel (say, 0 - 800 for LG CX) After that enable DTM so that picture use max available panel dynamic range at all times.

2020年12月9日 · If you’re playing Cyberpunk on a PS5, HDR is a must. While these are the settings that look best for me, there’s other factors at play. The settings on my LG C9 Oled and the HDR adjustment on my PS5. But for me, Maximum Brightness 1280, Paper White 350 and Tone Mapping 1.50, looks really good. Something around that range might work for you ...

2021年6月28日 · Ever since the late PS4 era and into the PS5, Sony IMO, has made incredible use of HDR. Ghost of Tsushina, Uncharted, Horizon, and most recently the new Ratchet and Clank have shown incredibly absorbing and astonishing pictures using HDR. Xbox obviously has them too, which is why I am surprised to see people take a dismissive response to HDR.

2023年9月22日 · PS5's "Always on HDR" is not the same as XBox/Windows "Auto HDR". All the PS5 option does is put the screen into HDR mode, and then accurately map the SDR content to accurate colour and brightness points within a BT.2020/HDR container/gamut/range. The end result should look identical to SDR content with the screen in SDR mode.
