2023年6月5日 · Discovered recently that I've been getting reduced network performance on my PS5 with downloads/ uploads but couldn't put my finger on it until I noticed that the PS5 was using the 2.4Ghz band on my Wireless network. Unfortunately my wireless router combines both the 2.4Ghz + 5Ghz bands under one SSID so there is no way to split it off.

2023年12月5日 · The reason your ps5 favored the 2.4 band is likely due to reception vs speed. 2.4 wifi reaches further and has better reception overall. 5g will give better speeds but at the cost of reception. So you are likely to have more drop outs in your online game using 5g despite the download speed being faster.

2021年6月3日 · My ps5 does not connect/show to 5ghz but connects to slower 2.4ghz and I tried pressing options and selecting 5ghz band but it still does not work, also tried manually inputting the ssid didn’t work either, 5ghz works fine on other devices.

2023年11月20日 · When playing the PS5 i really never noticed an issue because online games were fine. I went ahead and did an internet test on the PS5 within the console and saw it was only getting 27mbps DL speed and showed it was connected to the 2.4ghz band which was odd since i have an access point about 8 feet away.

2023年9月17日 · It will default to 2.4ghz. Now, if you are having this problem on your ps5, you CAN FORCE 5G! You must go into your network setting, set up internet connection, and before you select your connection, press options and fulter for 5G only. Then connect, and it will bypass the 2.4ghz connection and give you 5ghz.

2021年11月5日 · Verizon is tight lipped about their 5G antennas. The only Verizon antennas I could find were maybe 1-2 miles away. My iPhone SE is 4G LTE and gets similar/same speeds as the 5G Home service. Verizon says that the Askey/Asus gateway device was designed for their 4G LTE Home service but was designed to run on the new 5G C-bands if available.

2023年9月11日 · From my experience, the PS5 supports Wifi 6 (802.11ax) but it doesn't like it. For my Asus Router I had to disable the AX mode and Limit it to 802.11ac which worked, but also lowered the maximum speed I could achieve across all devices.

2020年9月17日 · I apologize this is incorrect, PS5 doesn’t have 10Gbe. It seems like this is a missed detail from yesterday’s articles with complete specs, personally I’m highly impressed that they have added 10 gigabit Ethernet on it. Albeit it has limited practical use now, but it is as future proof as it get for networking and not forgetting the AX WiFi.
