2019年6月6日 · The X4 is the number of PCI-E lanes used by the M.2 card. Older M.2 cards might only use 2 lanes. I doubt that an M.2 drive in an adapter card could perform better when plugged into an X16 slot.

2019年6月7日 · It is an adapter I found on Newegg.ca and I would have had my questions answered if I had read the reviews --> I was under the mistaken impression that it was a x16 PCI-e adapter, but the seller contacted me and explained that the listing says x4, x8, and x16 only because 'fits' into those slots.

Any sources on that? I'm actually wanting to plug it in an M2/minipicie slot. For others, no RTX cards are superior to GTX cards for folding by about 10-20x. My motherboard already has 2 full size PCIE slots occupied, and in order not to use the PCIE 1x slots, I was thinking of plugging an RTX card in the M2 to PCIE 4x slot.
