2021年11月24日 · You're correct, the PAL PS2 switches to outputting NTSC when in 60Hz mode (unlike, say, the Dreamcast which still outputs a PAL signal at 60Hz, aka PAL60). On older PAL TVs this would result in a black and white picture when playing the PS2 at 60Hz, but a colour one from the Dreamcast - at least until you bought an RGB SCART cable to avoid PAL ...

2022年7月9日 · As the title says, I understand some early NTSC copies being more expensive due to higher frame rates but even PAL games with 60fps are still cheaper than their American counterparts. Like a sealed new PAL copy of Haunting Ground is far cheaper than a used American version and this baffles me.

2023年9月18日 · Regions. NTSC is North America, PAL is Europe. The PS2 is region locked, so depending on where you bought it, it can either only play games from Europe (PAL), or North America (NTSC). Since your PS2 can only play PAL games, it's European. You can't play NTSC games on a PAL PS2 and vice-versa.

2021年6月3日 · The PAL spine while more uniform and easy to read, it's also pretty lifeless and generic. On the other hand, NTSC Spines are a lot more attractive to the eyes for how visually creative and colorful they are, and it's fun to look at them while sorting out the games.

After receiving the "insert Playstation or Playstation 2 format disc" I found out That the game is ntsc version and I have a pal console. I bought the game through Amazon so I doubt that they will refund me most of my money as i already opened the game.

90% of PAL games have NTSC/60hz option, not PAL/60hz but two output video signal, if you choose NTSC/60hz the resolution will decrease to 480i max, if you let PAL/50hz the resolution is 576i max and with better colour palette too, only two game had the feature to display PAL/60hz Tomb Raider Legend and Anniversary

2022年5月16日 · As for 50hz vs 60hz, on PS2 games rarely ran at different speeds, while on the NES it was incredibly common for games to run slower on PAL or have other side effects. Even on PS1 it was no longer too common for games to run slower, but if they did, I think it usually applied more to games originally developed in Japan.

2020年6月18日 · Granted, many PAL XBOX games will support 480p if played on a modded NTSC console, but still. On PS2 480p support is rare, but unfortunately so is 60Hz support in PAL. Part of the reason is that PS2 doesn't support PAL60. All PAL games with 60Hz actually output NTSC, not that it matters unless you're using RF, composite or s-video though.
