2018年2月13日 · Here we go: my second attempt at making a Self-Powering Oxygen Module, or "SPOM", That's a stupid name. Note to self: never use that name for any reason ever. We can't let it catch on. The goal was to not just produce oxygen, but produce it at a comfortable temperature instead of the 70 degrees it generally comes out at.

2018年9月12日 · The bottom pumps are the "Oxygen Pumps", since Oxygen is heavier than Hydrogen and will always fall to the bottom. 1 Pump can move up up to 500g of gas per second, meaning that: There is NOT enough Hydrogen being produced to run 1 Hydrogen Pump all the time. There is MORE than enough Oxygen for 1 Oxygen Pump even if it runs all the time.

2019年8月17日 · It's interesting to consider that oxygen can be brought to temperature without any sort of additional heat deletion device. This setup obviously requires more research than a standard SPOM, but it does not require high temperature industry. The biggest concern may be how to ensure input water is less than 80C or 55C depending on your equipment.

Second, oxygen pumps should be connected not to adjacent pump bat in pairs furthest away from each other, since if left pair of pumps does not draw oxygen fast enough it can break the gas balance and lead to oxygen finding it way to hydrogen pumps.

2019年4月4日 · The SPOM (Self-Powered Oxygen Module) relies on the natural properties of hydrogen/oxygen to separate themselves and thus not need a filter. However, a common misconception is that you need a filterless design in order to be self-powered, and that isn't true.

2022年6月15日 · A SPOM is not "loosely defined". It has some VERY clear parameters in the name. This is not Self powered (as in: runs independently of your main power grid). This is an oxygen setup. A pretty decent one I might add, but it is not a SPOM.

2018年8月21日 · The reason for this is the the gas pumps in the SPOM are not active 100% of the time, and the hydrogen generator is working all the time, even if its SPOM consumers don't need power. Now, at this point, you might say "Bah, who cares, My SPOM provides me the oxygen I need and doesn't require any care at all", and off you go to your merry way ...

2018年7月4日 · And at 2kg of oxygen pressure, it's back down on par with the smaller SPOM - the limitation herein being the single pump design. So, the solution I figured, was go big or go home, brute force the problem, and come up with a dual electrolyzer design based on the hydrogen corner design.
