2022年1月29日 · Those DNS servers are pushed by the OpenVPN server to the OpenVPN client when the connection is established. The router then reconfigures its local DNS server (i.e., DNSMasq) w/ those servers as the upstream public DNS servers. P.S. IIRC, if you're using the VPN Director, Exclusive does NOT use DNSMasq, but bypasses it.

2020年6月17日 · Of course, this raises security concerns, and why the OpenVPN server does NOT offer this option by default. Even if it didn't raise security concerns, the router wouldn't have a clue where you intended or wanted to store the username/password on the OpenVPN client anyway (OpenVPN doesn't allow it to be stored directly in the config file!).

Openvpn run on a single thread and requires a high cpu base frequency with AES-NI. A dual core like an Intel i3 socketed cpu is sufficient enough. but if you intend to run like an IDS/IPS, go with an i5.
